2025 Primary Recruitment Information

 FAQs

  • Recruitment is the process used to admit new members into their chapters. This process it used by all eleven of the NPC (National Panhellenic Council) chapters recognized on campus. It consists of four rounds; academic round, philanthropy round, sisterhood round, and preference round. Because recruitment is a mutually selective process between Potential New Members (the individual) and chapters, the PNM will also get to make selections based on the chapters she has attended rounds for after each day. PNMs will be able to visit up to eight chapters on the first day and will narrow down their selections until Bid Day.

  • Recruitment will be held on the dates of Friday, August 29th to Monday, September 1st. Bid Day will be on the evening of September 2nd.

  • Each round of sorority recruitment is slightly different, each one serves a specific purpose.

Academic round is the only round of recruitment held online. This round requires the PNM (you) to upload a video to your Campus Director profile in order to introduce yourself to the chapters! You will also watch a video from each chapter, these will give you a short introduction to each chapter before in-person rounds begin.

Philanthropy round is the first round of recruitment held in-person and will take place on Saturday, August 30th. You may be invited to meet with 8 chapters, each event with a chapter will last 35 minutes. This round is important because you will be learning about the philanthropy each chapter supports.

Sisterhood round will be the second day of recruitment that is held in person and will be held on Sunday, August 30th. You can meet with up to 5 chapters during sisterhood, each of these meetings will last 45 minutes. Sisterhood round takes time to emphasize the sororities individual personalities and what sisterhood means to them.

Preference is the final in-person round of recruitment. This round you will be able to meet with up to 2 chapters, each meeting will last for 60 minutes. During this round you will have the opportunity to further your bond with the chapters you are invited back to.

  • Each day of recruitment gets more and more formal, which is important to keep in mind when selecting your wardrobe for recruitment.

As philanthropy round is the first in-person meeting, this is the least formal out of all three days of in-person recruitment. You will be provided with a t-shirt from UNCW Panhellenic to wear during your rounds. This t-shirt can be paired with any bottoms you like. Most choose a skirt or nice shorts that showcase their style!

During sisterhood round, you will be able to showcase your style with a casual dress, a skirt and top, a romper/jumpsuit, or a cute top and pants!

Preference round is the most formal round of in-person recruitment, as it is the most sacred. We advise wearing a nice dress, skirt/top, pantsuit, or jumpsuit.

  • No, but most Chapters have on-campus suites that members can choose to live in.

  • Recommendation letters are not required or a large factor at this campus. However, if you would like to send one in, it can be sent to the organization's nationals/ headquarters.

  • Women who have to miss parts of recruitment will be able to write a letter to the chapter whose round they are missing to explain why they are absent. However, missing a day could greatly impact your chances of being invited back by the chapter if they are not able to meet with you. You will also need to meet with your Recruitment Counselor to make sure you have all the information you need to make selections for the day you missed. Even just missing one round without an excuse will result in being dropped from the recruitment process.
