Sigma sigma sigma
Sigma Sigma Sigma, often referred to as Tri Sigma was founded in 1898 at State Female Normal School in Farmville, Virginia. Now, 127 years later, Tri Sigma has expanded its membership to include over 140,000 initiated women. When founded, Tri Sigma established on the five values of, “wisdom, power, faith, hope, and love,” all of which continue to live on through the lives of current members. The Tri Sigma mission reads, “to establish among its members a perpetual bond of friendship, to develop in them strong womanly character, and to impress upon them high standards of conduct.” Since 1951, Tri Sigma has supported plenty of children’s health initiatives and has since established a partnership with the March of Dimes. March of Dimes is a non-profit that serves to improve the health of mothers and babies. Chapters of Tri Sigma put forth a lot of effort to ensure mothers and their children have equal opportunity for healthy futures.
Throughout this semester, the Epsilon Phi Chapter of Tri Sigma has supported their philanthropy by hosting events such as bouquet making for Valentine’s Day, Pie a Sigma, and a fun collaboration with Tiny Weld Permanent Jewelry and Hat Bar!
