Chi omega
Chi Omega was founded at the University of Arkansas in the year 1895. In the last 130 years, Chi Omega has become the largest women’s fraternal organization in the world, with over 419,000 initiated members and 181 recognized collegiate chapters. Chi Omega members have since followed their six purposes, “friendship, high standards of personnel, sincere learning and creditable scholarship, participation in campus activities, career development, and community service,” since being founded. The vision statement of Chi Omega reads, “sisters inspired by our values who serve the world while keeping Chi Omega ever at heart.” Chi Omega supports their philanthropy, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, by hosting multiple events and fundraisers throughout the year. Make-A-Wish is a national non-profit dedicated to granting wishes to children who have been diagnosed with critical illnesses. Nationally, Chi Omega has raised over $37 million in support of Make-A-Wish.
Recently, the Nu Lambda Chapter of Chi Omega held their annual Wish Week in support of their philanthropy and successfully raised over $1,400!
